Wipocalypse May check in

Hi Friends,

Wipocalypse time again (hosted by Measi) where we work on those pesky wips living down the side of the sofa! And yes, late again for the link up! Only 5 days this time!

For this month's Wipocalypse I worked on all my wips including my quilt would you believe! These are pics of the ones that were the original wips from the start of the year.

Anchor sampler - we have a floating flower!

Blackwork Seasons - finished the acorn band, the star band and autumn.

12 days - everything in blocks 10,11 and 12!

My WIP total now stands at 16, in aiming for a reduction in that number in June although I have 5 new starts planned!

Here is my hexagon quilt too. I added another row at the bottom which is actually the left hand side!

I've had finishes on blackwork birdsong, Celtic bird too but I've shown you pics multiple times!

so on to the question posed by Measi...
Which designer’s projects do you absolutely love, but are too intimidated to try?

I'd love to try hardanger but the though of cutting threads terrifys me! As for designers...There isn't anyone who intimidates me - I tackled fractionals, blended threads and French knots in my first 3 cross stitches so that doesn't bother me and really enjoy trying out speciality stitches. Cost is the main thing that deters me - I'm not much of a Miribillia person, although I've seen 4 Nora Corbetts I like but at £100 to kit a project I don't love it that much. I've tried a HAED, I was too lazy to do it 90 thread colours and confetti urgh! I have a very long wish list of projects I'd love to stitch so if I like it and it falls within my small budget I'll stitch it!

Have a great stitchy June!

  2. I like all of your projects you've been working on. I have to admit, my eye was caught by the fun little crab on your hexi quilt. My mother collects all things crabs as they have a little house by the beach that they spend a lot of time at in the summer. You can literally just walk out on the beach during a low tide and pick up fresh crabs for dinner (assuming you have the proper license). Thanks for sharing all your pictures. --Andrea

  3. You have done well this month, really prepared for the WIPocalypse!
I don't think of Miras as expensive because I don't kit them up in advance. I have the DMC and buy the beads or Kreinik at the end which spreads the cost.
