I've been a bit hit and miss with my check ins for the Smalls Sal - It's not that I'm not stitching smalls - Just not blogging regularly enough. The Smalls Sal is hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus and challenges us to stitch and complete a small of our choice each month.
Welcome
As the song from Gilmore Girls says “So welcome to my little corner of the world”. It’s all about me and my crafting – focusing around my love for stitching and sewing along with anything else that catches my eye. So welcome, grab a coffee and happy reading.

Smalls SAL - April edition.
Hi everyone,
Smalls Sal time again, hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus.
We've had a crazy busy week as both Smalls had their birthdays last weekend. DS turned 12 and we celebrated with Go-Karting and Pizza. DS turned 7 and had a Jewellery making party with 6 of her friends. They also had party games too.
We had a great weekend, but very tiring to say the least!

So back to the Smalls SAL. It's a lovely easy going sal where we can pick our own smalls and show a finish on the last Friday of the month.
I set myself a challenge of 10 finishes in April and I'm pleased to say I hit my target. They were all smalls so here goes for a mammoth post!
The first four months for my calendar stitched in various variegated threads by Anchor and DMC. By Palko-lap
Hello spring by Lizzie Kate
Spring keeper by The Drawn Thread
Cactus embroidery
Seahorse by Mouseloft
Little alphabet sampler
Gilmore Girls by Wee Littlle Stitches
That was quite some stitching considering I got most of Blackwork Birdsong finished too. I was really lucky to have a few days over Easter when I could just stitch.
I'm joining in with Maynia over on Facebook in May, stitching on at least 17 projects including 5 new starts! Lets hope I get a small finish for next month!
Have a great weekend!

Smalls SAL - March
Hello Friends
Time for the Smalls SAL hosted by Heather - the aim - a small finish of our choice each month.
It was Mum's 70th Birthday week so I stitched her this little kit from Hobbycraft. Flippin' awful kit, bad chart and key, ridiculous number of fractionals and basically just a slog from start to finish.
I finished it off as a little heart and made cords from the left over thread of which there was masses. I could have stitched it twice or three times (not that that was a feeling that came over me at any point once I'd opened the kit).
My lovely friend Ria also made her this beautiful cake with Mum's favourite yellow roses.

Smalls SAL - January check in
Hello friends,
Well I can't believe January is almost out already so it's time to check in with the Smalls Sal hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus. The idea is simple - we stitch and finish a small piece of work - what we deem small is up to us. This month I have 2 little finishes for you...

The first is this little tree decoration made by Tiger which was a gift to me from my friend Lauren at These City Days. I added the back stitch and beads as I wanted to give it a bit more of a snowy feel.

Smalls SAL - July
Hey friends
The figures at the front are all the teachers and they are a brilliant likeness. The pictures are all the kids that were in T's class.
Me again, smalls sal time, hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus.
Lots of small finishes since last month. I've shared most already so here's a quick recap.
Travelling box makes
Laura's birthday makes
I still love those dragons and the love to create sign.
So in to this month's smalls finish. Here are the butterfly cards all made up.
They were from Crazy magazine with the green one being an extra requested by my daughter for her teacher. We gave them along with these fab little decorations made by my friend Clare who has a fab Etsy shop called Pretty Flamingo Designs.
Something that wasn't small at all but was amazing that I just had to share. My eldest left primary school last week and one of the mum's made this rather marvellous cake.
My August small will be one of my wipocalypse pieces, fingers crossed for a finish.
Happy stitching friends

Smalls SAL May
Hello friends
I'm having a quiet morning at home today indulging in a bit of tennis and F1 viewing in peace!
It's the Whitsun bank holiday weekend this weekend and we have friends over Monday so I need to tidy craft corner as they have a little one and that is no small task! I've been making lots and lots for the travelling box over the last week. I've made 7 things so far and I have another couple in progress. I've still found time to stitch on my chosen piece for the smalls sal so on to that...
So as the title says its Smalls SAL check in hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus I've been stitching the ABC sal that Ele at Busy hands craft designed and I've actually managed to catch up! I didn't post last month as life was crazy busy with the children's birthdays. So last time I had just started N for needle...
Next up was P for peacock...
T for thread...
V for Vase...
And lastly for the alphabet Z for Zinnia...
We then started on the numbers... I loved doing the star stitches and saved them for last.
I'm not going to show you the whole thing as it is as I'm close to finishing it and I'll show it next smalls post all framed and finished. I have 2 other cross stitches that need framing that are the same finished size so I will buy 3 and do them all. The other 2 have only been waiting 2 years!
Have a great weekend xx

Smalls SAL - January
Hi Everyone
This year I decided to join a few SAL's to help with me keeping up with my blog...
This year I decided to join a few SAL's to help with me keeping up with my blog...
So this week it is the turn of the Smalls SAL hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus. The basic premiss of the sal is that you stitch on something that you consider to be a small and show us the finished piece on the last Thursday of each month. (I know it's Sunday, shhhh!!)
In my little world of biscornu it seems quite funny for me not to have many smalls finishes as it's what I mainly stitch. I've actually done quite well this month and had 4 finishes, however one I can't share and the other two are what I would call medium ones (ooh went a bit Miranda then! Such fun!) Anyhoo, here is my little finish for the month. It's a mouseloft kit of dolphins that I stitched for my friend.
Next month should be full of smalls as I plan to finish the RAK's I have outstanding and do a bit on Plum Street Samplers - 12 days of Christmas (yup, got behind in that too!)
It's 1st February tomorrow so I hope everyone has a great month and I'll be back soon with an update on my 2016 goals.
