Welcome

As the song from Gilmore Girls says “So welcome to my little corner of the world”. It’s all about me and my crafting – focusing around my love for stitching and sewing along with anything else that catches my eye. So welcome, grab a coffee and happy reading.

Steph's birthday and the Noise

Hello lovely people,
Welcome to my new followers too, my blog seems a bit higgledy piggledy at the moment with posts all over the place. It was a failed attempt at a bit of tidying up.  Onwards and upwards.

It was Steph's birthday last week and I stitched her this Big Bang Theory quote (which sounds much better if you say it in a Sheldon voice!)

I sent a little bundle of stuff too including a filled tin from Paperchase (best thing to happen to our city in ages) sweets, lipbalm, candles, socks  and a little sketchbook.

Not the best photo, anyone else finding the clocks going back causing them  problems with their photography? If I haven't taken them by 4pm then the only place is our kitchen table with any degree in reasonable light.

As many of you know I'm quite involved in my local church and this is what the youth did over half term in a project called The Noise which they did with 9 other church youth groups from across the city. Around 90 young people and 45 youth leaders did community projects like helping at food bank, a homeless day centre and visiting at elderly sheltered accommodation. They did 2 art installations on the high street. This is the before I die... one.

So my question for you all is what would you put on the board?

Before I die I want to...

Mine was get a degree and I did also put feed giraffes.

That's all for today. I'm busy now with my  Christmas makes and I'm trying to put together a tutorial and a freebie design for the biscobell, so look out for those.

Happy Sunday xx

Happy dances!!

So 2 weeks into 2014 and I have my first two happy dances. My rotation is going well and I feel like I'm making progress.

One of my wips was the Big Bang Theory design by Wee little Stitches. You can find the chart here. Hubby wants it framed to go in his geek corner.

I finished this one last week but couldn't share it as it was for Steph to say thank you for the amazing dragon she crocheted for my hubby and all our lovely gifts she sent us at Christmas.

The design is a freebie from Kincavel Krosses. I backed it with some spotty fabric and turned it into a little pouch to hold a gift card.

There are my first two finishes of the year. I'm on my smalls rotation week now so I'm working on the cover gift from this months cross stitcher magazine and the January ornament from the needlecraft haven SAL.

Tomorrow I'll be posting my first wipocalypse post. Exciting!

Bye for now

Biscornu swap with Steph

Steph very kindly offered to do a swap with me to enable me to complete one of my challenges on my 101 list that was (I also did a swap with McKenna so double tick!) We decided to do a biscornu swap and here is what I sent Steph...

So to the close ups...a biscostar...top and bottom or bottom and top!

I will find the pattern and share the link with you all. It's stitched on fruit tea dyed lined in a pretty vari thread from dinky dyes called Aussie dreams.

I also sent Steph the Sheldon bookmark you saw yesterday, some Pez for her minnie mouse, a cute notebook and a bag of bits.

Steph in return sent me this most amazing, generous, and breath taking parcel. I did wonder why postie couldn't get it through the door so when hubby brought a rather large (for a biscornu) box from the sorting office, I found it full of this goodness...

So sitting on the hand dyed linen  which steph dyed for me for a blackwork project is a gorgeous charm pack of fabric in greens, some little charms and buttons, a candle, crochetted heart and an angel cookie cutter.

This fab card...

and the most amazing biscornu I've ever seen. It's a stunning 15 sided one with a matching mini one.

It is truly breathtaking. I must admit I'm in a little bit of shock about it all! I'm off for a sit down!

Happy Stitching.

Theme-a-licious Figural February wrap up

Figural February
Who are the people in your neighborhood...your WIP neighborhood, that is? Give your people-populated projects some face time this month.

Not a huge amount done this month on my my Big Bang Theory chart. I did happen to be having a little look on Wee Little Stitches on Etsy and saw they had added Amy and Bernadette to the pattern and kindly offered anyone who'd brought the pattern the new characters for free. So I now have more to stitch and the great thing is my fabric is plenty big enough!!

Here is where I'm at with BBT, Penny all done and we have a headless and legless Raj too.

I did an exchange with Steph this week too and I know she is a fan - so I stitched her a Sheldon Cooper bookmark. Bazinga!

I've stitched a lot for friends this month so does that count too?!? Age old story of can't show you until they have received it though, so plenty of posts next month.

So looking forward to March... (My thoughts in green)

March Madness
Work on something different every day...it's madness...of the funnest possible kind.
Time to make a start on all those cover kits I think, although I may limit myself to just 15 projects as 31 WIP's would probably push me over the edge! It's Mothering Sunday and Mum's birthday too so there will be liitle projects for Mum too. I could easily start 31 projects though...

Theme-a-licious Figural February check in

So It's theme-a-licious time again and here's this months...urm...theme!

Figural February

This has got to be my Big Bang Theory chart!

Ok, so only a teeny, tiny bit of a start on the Big Bang Theory chart. The design is from Wee Little Stitches on Etsy. I don't think this design will take a huge amount of time a it's very straight forward design. So here you can see Penny is not far off done. I'm hoping another session on it tonight, then we might see Raj appear too. I had planned on stitching on it last night but I got slightly side tracked by my new book - Is it just me by Miranda Hart. So very, very funny.

I did make this bookmark recently - I'm not sure if it was in January that it was stitched but it was certainly finished off this month. As it's a quote from CS Lewis (Author of the Chronicles of Narnia) I'm counting it as people! I did pinch this picture from Laura, it's recipient as I forgot to take a pic of it.

Hopefully I'll have a lot more to show you in the wrap up post. I've been stitching a lot this month for people so I think that counts as people populated!!!

Check out It's Geek to me for more Theme-a-licious updates and I'll be back with the wrap up on the 28th!

Have a great weekend. x
