Welcome

As the song from Gilmore Girls says “So welcome to my little corner of the world”. It’s all about me and my crafting – focusing around my love for stitching and sewing along with anything else that catches my eye. So welcome, grab a coffee and happy reading.

WIP (a little bit late) ocalypse

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe how hectic the last few weeks have been, it's certainly been March Madness for everything in our house. I'm 5 days late for WIPocalypse hosted by Measi. A SAL where we do battle with the WIP's down the side of the sofa in an attempt to get the pile under control!

WIPocalypse Button

Here are my worked on WIP's for the month:

Anchor sampler - one kit fits all SAL's!

Blackwork seasons - Just a start made on the Autumn band.

I should have done some on 12 days but the mood really didn't strike.

March Madness has also given me a whole host of new WIP's  - 13 to be exact.

January.
February.
March.
Just Nan.
Celtic Bird.
Redwork alphabet.
Lizzie Kate Friendship.
Gilmore Girls.
Maia Giraffes.
Blackwork Birdsong.
Jubilee Heart.
Cactus Hoop.
and whatever comes out of the JOD tomorrow.

And on to the WIPocalypse question of the month...

March 26 – What stitchy blogs, groups, or flosstubes do you follow and why?

All of the blogs I follow are in my side bar. I follow most because they are a source of inspiration, encouragement and it's nice to feel part of a community. It has been where I have discovered many new designers and also been stash enabled once or twice! Some blogs really cheer me up and  make me laugh Many blogs i follow were found through other blogs and joining in with SAL's and a few I followed back at the start of my blog in 2012 no longer blog. It's also lovely to think that others out there want to see what I've been creating too.

I only do the Wipocalypse group on Facebook, but there is a private group for my travelling box friends and we often use that for advice especially with crochet problems. I don't do flosstubes - if anyone can recommend one or two, I'll give them a go.

Happy Stitching

Smalls SAL - March

Hello Friends

Time for the Smalls SAL hosted by Heather - the aim - a small finish of our choice each month.

It was Mum's 70th Birthday week so I stitched her this little kit from Hobbycraft. Flippin' awful kit, bad chart and key, ridiculous number of fractionals and basically just a slog from start to finish.

I finished it off as a little heart and made cords from the left over thread of which there was masses. I could have stitched it twice or three times (not that that was a feeling that came over me at any point once I'd opened the kit).

My lovely friend Ria also made her this beautiful cake with Mum's favourite yellow roses.

I'll be back at the weekend with a final round up of Theme-Tas-Stitch.

Happy stitching.

Stash shopping at the NEC

Hey folks,

Just a quick post about my day out at the Stitching and hobbycrafts show at the NEC yesterday. I went with my friends Clare and Ria.

We saw some amazing cakes...

Saw costume displays from the film The Kings Speech

And a promotional piece from Game of Thrones.

And brought STASH...

Paper bags for DD's birthday and jewellery elastic. Lots of buttons, various pieces of fabric (including a grab bag of evenweave and linen offcuts) and threads.

Buttons and beads.

Liberty fabric for my quilt, felt and threads.

And a bent creek pattern. I seem to have a thing for alphabet patterns at the moment.

I had a fab day. Best I start saving for November!

See you Tuesday for Theme-Tas-Stitch.

Gifted Gorgeousness with a sprinkling of madness

In an attempt to shorten next week's potentially mahoosive Theme-Tas-Stitch post, I thought I'd share a few of my march madness projects that I've stitched on so far as part of gifted gorgeousness.

Gifted gorgeousness is stitching on hosted by Jo of serendipitous stitching.  We post about the projects we have worked on that use gifted elements such as fabric or chart or that is stitched as a gift.

I have been picking projects out of the JOD with help from DD. The first few projects picked out are all gifted kits or will be gifts and each contain an evenings stitching.

Top left - Maia Giraffe silhouette - from Mum
Top right - Celtic bird - from Laura
Bottom left - Lizzie Kate friendship grows - stitching for a friend.
Bottom right - Just Nan Spring frills - blog win from Carolyn.

I also did a fair bit on my Anchor Traditional Sampler - a gift from my in laws.

I loved stitching on the sampler again and I only have 1700 stitches to go. It'll be the first thing I pick up in April.

The last thing is this little freebie design I found on Pinterest stitched in DMC coloris thread.

So that seems to get me up to date. I'm off to the NEC for the stitching and craft show. I'm very excited!

Happy stitching friends.

Theme-Tas-Stitch March Madness plans

Hey folks

March madness for Theme-Tas-Stitch starts today and I thought I'd share my plans for the month.
