Goals progress - February

Hello friends.

I've decided to try and do a monthly goals update so I can try and achieve them. You can see the goals on the tab above.

So on to the progress. I've worked on the following:

Scandi heart - and I've finished it too! The design is from an old cross stitcher mag and stitched with dinky dyes thread - Aussie dreams.

I met my friend Caroline who it was for and she loved it! I call her the queen of hearts as she is always stitching hearts into things and that's what Cross Stitcher had called this design!

Winter swap - I won't share any pics but I'm making great progress, the top of the biscornu is done, I'm waiting on fabric to do the bottom. I've almost finished a Snowflower Diaries design for the second stitched piece. The blanket is coming on well and I've laid out the felt book and designed a brooch too. I'm happy with all that.

I've finished one of the RAKs and kitted up a third so this is going ok too. I'll post pics when people have received them.

I've been making some paper embroidery cards too.

I've stitched some and got several ready to stitch. Some will be Easter cards too. I just need to make them up.

So all in all I'm pleased with my progress after 1 month. I'm hoping to finish the winter swap, the RAKs and do some work on Plum Street over the next month.

Wish me luck

WIPocalypse 2016

I hadn't planned to do WIPocalypse this year as I hadn't been particularly successful in the past, but feeling the need for a bit of structure to achieve my 2016 goals and also another SAL to help me blog regularly. WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi and each full moon we have to share the projects we want to finish or progress on.  Measi posts a question too - this is January's

Introduce yourself, your projects, and any goals you have for the year!

Ok, so quick intro - I'm Kerry, mum to Tom (10) and Lottie (5), married for 12 years to Andy, part time administrator for a small company which I love. I have a passion for cross stitch, blackwork , crochet (if only I was better at it), the colour green, motorsport, giraffes and creative prayer.
.
Most of my 2016 WIPs are in this post but there were 2 I'd forgotten. One was the RAKs that are due to be done by March I think. I've done one, started a second so that leaves 3 to do completely. The other was the granny square swap blanket that needs 2 more squares crocheted and then making up into a blanket. These are the squares so far

I crocheted the same square twice so I could keep one and mine are on the right.

I have been making progress with the winter swap and I've finally finished the top of the biscornu. It's taken me forever. I'm planning on finding fabric and a chart for the bottom this afternoon. I know what I want it to be so its just a case of finding a chart the right size. Here's a sneaky peek of the corner.

The blanket is progressing too. It's about 2/3 done now. Whilst I'm still doing the squares for it it is my bus project. I have two 15-20 journeys a day and a 20 minute wait at the school between when the bus gets in and end of school. (The joys of rural bus services) so it's not unusual to see me stitching or crocheting in the playground.

Oh yes blanket progress pic...

As you can see there are lots of ends to sew in too.

My last project is the Scandi heart. There has been a tiny bit of progress on it and it will be finished and framed by next Saturday as I'm meeting its recipient for coffee and cake. It's been a good 6 months in the UFO pile as I've not seen my friend for that long. I'm sure the older you get, the faster time passes.

Anyhoo...before

And now...

And now it's time to get some actual stitching done whilst Lot watches the CBeebies panto's for the umpteenth time.

Gifted gorgeousness September

Hello,

It's been a couple of weeks since my last post and I'm way late for gifted gorgeousness hosted by Jo as serendipitous stitching.

I've not a lot to share as I've been crafting for Christmas! Some of the travelling box ladies and I are having a Christmas edition of the box so I'm making for that so I can send on its way at the end of the month. I've already made 9 things, I just need to get some pom-pom trim and wait for some beads to come to finish the last two. It's been great fun crafting for this one. I designed two of the pieces myself. Here is one before I made it up. I will share them next time.

I did do a bit on the Scandi heart, although I ended up frogging so much as I was a line out. My progress pic now shows less than last time! I've a deadline on it too.

I've done a bit on my quilt too although there's not a lot to show as I ran out of hexagon papers, so I couldn't make a lot of hexagons ready to sew in. It's been good fun to have it out again as it had been over a year.

The granny square swap is on its last round now so I've just got to finish my last one and send it off. I received a lovely parcel of goodies from Joan which I'll share in my next post and show all of the squares together.

Not the most exciting post today but next month will be full of finishes and progress reports. I'll be stitching for Steph's birthday too and I found two brilliant track so I think she'll love.

So enjoy the rest of your weekend by for now.
