Spring swap part 1

Hello,
Earlier this year Steph and I decided to have a 4 seasons swap and just before Easter we exchanged our spring parcels

Steph in all her marvellousness sent me an awesome Easter egg hunt...

Here it is all unpacked on the beautiful blanket.

The blanket was made of the softest wool and is lovely for my lap on cooler evenings

Steph stitched this beautiful spring bunny cushion. You can find the link to the design on Steph's blog.

There a stunning and very long granny square scarf. It was very handy on our break to Minehead last week as it was a little breezy.

Steph stitched this friendship biscornu

And the back with a lovely daisy button

A needle felted sheep...

Then there was this wonderful bag, stuffed full of goodies including a Lindt bunny, sweets, candle, charms, 3 cheerful crocheted brooches and flower garlands!

Steph is a very talented artist too and painted me this postcard, here's the front...

And the back, I love the fabric in the heart.

Still with me as there is so much more still to go!!!

Flower garlands

Bunny and monster egg covers for the kids

And one of Steph's fabulous fabric books. It's really worth reading Steph's blog about this as she explains is so much better than I can.

The cover with a granny square in the same wool as my cosy blanket

A spring lamb in the field and spring is the time to get creative...

And of course a spring giraffe!! The back cover below had a beautiful mandala on it. I did hint to Steph that it would make a stunning brooch!

And last of all is a wee Witchy postcard...

So as you can see I was truly blessed with the swap. Steph is an amazingly talented lady. I'm already plotting the summer swap.

My makes for the swap coming up in part 2...

Thanks for reading. xx

101 things, giveaway wins and thank you's

Hi friends,
So firstly a quick update with my 101/1001. I wrote my letter to myself, that was a bit weird to say the least. I've brought a couple of notebooks to keep a journal of my progress. Me and the Kids visited The Hive which is the new city Library and History Centre. The design has split opinion locally, but I kind of like it and it is such a user friendly place and doesn't feel like a library at all.

Picture taken from Hive website.
My 101 Things box, Journal, prayer diary and 20p tin
I won a giveaway over on Laura's blog. She had a stash sort out and gave away 3 big bags of stash and I was lucky enough to win one of them. Laura also included a pair of earrings and a cute little seal ami.

The bag was full of charts, stickers, ribbons, teddybear fabric, threads and other crafty bits and bobs too. There was also a lovely handbag cross stitch kit too.

Lastly I made a little something for Laura and Steph as a little thank you for sending me beads for my friend Jennie in Thailand. I'm sure the kids there will have fun making jewellery with them.

Parcel of beads for Jennie from Steph, Laura  (and me)
So I made Laura a little needle felted piggy. Here he is sat with a little parcel of fabric I sent Laura for her Hexagon quilt.

And I sent Steph a little needlefelted russian doll as she also sent me a huge pile of felting goodies with the beads for me.

Right I'm off to put the finishing touches to my Giveaway prize, hopefully I'll get it launched this weekend. Woo Hoo!!! xx

Needle felting and a little cross stitch

Hi Folks,
So has anyone else become a footie widow this weekend? I should be thankful really as I can usually get more stitching done.
I've been doing a bit of needle felting this week as I found a few great tutorials. I need to get some more merino tops this week so I can do a very cute dog. I have my eye on a couple of books on Amazon so I can expand my repetoire. So anyhoo here are my first attempts at something other than beads.

I'm very pleased with how my little Russian dolls turned out and for first attempts I don't think they're too bad considering they are only 1 1/2" big for the lilac one and just under 2" for the blue one.

I also made a little toadstool, again this is only about 1 1/2" tall.

I also had a go at wet felting and here are the beads I made along with the start of a brooch which once I've fixed it together I plan on adding some buttons or beads ( the heart pins will be removed)

I've been stitching a little too and finished this coaster for the Craftbubble swap. Next on the stitching list is an anniversary card for hubby for the end of next week. I shall get it all ready tomorrow ready to take to work on monday evening.

Lastly check out Jordan's blog for the Great British Giveaway HERE

Have a fab weekend friends. xxx

ATC's and a bit of stash shopping

Helloooo Friends,
Well my first blog for 3 weeks and the first with the new blogger layout which to put it mildly was a tad confusing.

Things have been a little crazy over the last couple of weeks. I started to do my April biscornu and then what with one thing and another including a new job for hubby, both children having birthdays and then illness, crafting has rather taken a back seat.
The main problem I have is a lack of things to show you at the moment as I made my ATC's for Laura, but I'm yet to post them so they will be staying firmly under wraps for a few more days. I did make up some other ones too which are below...

I brought a copy of the mag 'Simply Homemade' as I liked the look of the cross stitch on the cover, anyhoo, I came across an article on french knitting, my grandad made me a dolly 20 odd years ago and it has moved craft boxes and houses, lived in the loft and the garage. So I dug it out and here is the make from the mag and I must say I'm rather pleased with how it has turned out. I have started a cross stitch pattern from it too so I'll show that as soon as I have finished it.

I've discovered a great little aladdin's cave of a craft shop on the other side of town, a friend told me about it so I decided to check out Crafty Mo's and  she stocks merino tops for needle felting which I was over the moon about, I also picked up a couple of odds and ends too. I also had a great little find in The Works today - a stitchable Journal, it has a little perforated paper section on the cover  and cost £1.99, it came with all the threads and a little sheet of perforated paper with a geometric design on to copy and in a nice box box that I might decopatch at a later point.

Lovely new Merino wool tops.

Well thats about it for now, hopefully I'll be able fill you in on the ATC swap at the end of the week. Thanks for stopping by. x
